Control Thrips and Spider Mites Naturally with Amblyseius Predatory Mites
Using beneficial insects is the most eco-friendly method of pest control. Thrips feed on plant sap, causing brown edges and bright spots on plant leaves. Amblyseius cucumeris, a natural predator of thrips, preys on young thrips larvae by biting and sucking them dry.
Description: Amblyseius predatory mites are reddish-brown, mobile, and 0.5 mm in size. These predatory mites are suitable for indoor plants, conservatories, and greenhouses with a relative humidity of over 60%. Amblyseius cucumeris partially feeds on spider mites as well.
The predatory mites are supplied in paper bags, which should be hung at medium height on the infested plants. No additional perforation or opening is necessary for the bags. Within 4-5 weeks, predatory mites will start leaving the bags to hunt thrips. Replace the bags if necessary.
10 bags of 500 predatory mites are sufficient for about 5 plants, depending on the size and level of infestation.
For monitoring infestation, we recommend using blue sticky traps.
